Equipment for our Main Task

These are all the things we will use to enable we successful completed and create a good opening for our main task. All the things were given to us by our college or were available for us.

Camera

This is an important part of our filming, this will be the piece of equipment that will get our shots and also capture each scene with various angles.

Tripod

This will help balance our camera to achieve leveled viewing. It will allow the shots to tilt, zoom and span accurately.

Mac Computer

The Mac's helped our research and planning due to the useful applications such as:
Garage Band
Final Cut Pro
Pages
Safari

Overall these elements assisted us on producing our prelim and main tasks.

Final Cut Pro

This Mac application came to our aid by cutting, editing, and finalizing our prelim and main tasks. It allowed the pace to suit it's purpose or genre (fast, slow pace) and this created continuity in our clips.

Garage Band

Garage Band allowed our film's non-diegetic music to be produced. The music was useful as it was non-copyright and options were placed to agree with our 'Thriller' genre.

Black Hoody

This item of clothing is vital for our opening sequence as the antagonist is going to wear this. The colour and shape allows viewers to know this person is a threat, and their identity is hidden.

Location for our main task

Locations for our Main Task

This is the locations for our main task. It will take place in

Lewisham station where the four female protagonists first meet each other.

It will also take place on a train in which the four teenage girls conversate, but are unaware they are being watched by the antagonist.

All these images display the locations that will be used during the filming of our main task.

Planning for Film Opening

Analysis Of Titles

Panic Room Title Sequence
These title sequences follow the standard pattern as established earlier:
  • producers’ names
  • the actor playing Bond
  • title of the film
  • supporting cast
  • crew
  • finally the director’s name.

As the film starts, the first part of the sequence we see the producers name- Columbia Pictures.

The main characters name is then displayed just as in the bulleted sequence.
The title of the film is boldly displayed just as standard pattern establishes.

Supporting actors are shown.
The same abstract
layout is used as is
the sequence.

After supporting actors, the crew is then displayed, we notice that the sequence is the same.

Finally the directors name is shown in bold letters to end the opening credits.

These title sequences follow the standard pattern as established earlier:
  • producers’ names
  • the actor playing
  • title of the film
  • supporting cast
  • crew
  • finally the director’s name.
In Saw the title sequence starts off with the producers name which is Lions Gate Films.

The next thing for the pattern in the title sequence is who directed this is not normally how it would be in a standard title sequence.

The supporting cast is supposed after who directed the film this is in the pattern for the standard title sequence.

The crew members in the film are not shown in this title sequence so again does not follow the standard title sequence.

The films name is not supposed to be last but in the case of Saw it is the directors name  is supposed to be last in a standard title sequence.

What is not in the title sequence is:
  • Crew
This is the only thing not in the title sequence of Saw.
These title sequences follow the standard pattern as established earlier:

  • producers’ names
  • the actor playing
  • title of the film
  • supporting cast
  • crew
  • finally the director’s name
The first thing on the list of the standard title sequence  is the producers names this is present in Se7en

The actors playing is the second bullet in a standard pattern of a title sequence again Se7en follows this.
The title of the film is followed again in the order that a standard film sequence is supposed to occur.

Again Se7en follows the standard pattern of the title sequence this is again shown for the supporting cast members of the film.

The cast members are again followed in the standard  and this again is followed in Se7en.

The directors name is supposed to be at the end of the title sequence this is shown again so overall the title sequence is in the standard order of a normal title sequence.
